Cambodia Partners with Russia in Boosting Tourism

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and Russia are now partners in boosting tourism and the business sector. The two countries have pledged a strong cooperation to promote tourism and investments. It was confirmed during a meeting held on Wednesday between the Minister of Tourism Thong Khon and Russian Ambassador to Cambodia Anatoly Borovik.

Minister Khon has expressed gratitude to Russia's contributions over the decades, especially when it comes to build peace in the Kingdom. The Russian Ambassador has affirmed to a good cooperation and relations in all sectors with Cambodia. The diplomat also appreciated the Cambodia's strategies to restore tourism and expressed his determination to encourage more Russian tourists to visit the country.

Starting on 30 November, Cambodia will start to welcome fully vaccinated tourists, including Russian travelers, with at least five days of quarantines in designated areas. The first areas are two seaside provinces – Sihanoukville and Koh Kong. The home to famous Angkor temples, Siem Reap will be added on the list in January.
